I graduated with a bachelors in Economics from Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), have a Masters from the University of Warwick in Public Policy. Currently, I am employed as a Young Development Fellow (YDF) at the Ministry of Planning, Development and Reform, assigned to work with the Chief Economist. With a background in public policy, the YDF programme provides the perfect platform to put theory into practice. Concepts of problem identification, policy design, programme implementation and analysis can be further embellished while working at this position.
Moreover, after working as a Research Executive at Gallup Pakistan and interning with the Coventry City Council, the YDF programme will provide the appropriate boost for a career in the development sector. It will enhance my leadership skills, provide me with a national platform to present my ideas and mould me into an effective entrepreneurial leader.
Furthermore, under the supervision of the Chief Economist and other Members/Head of Sections, I intend to conduct research on several topics including CPEC and its impact on job creation as well as poverty alleviation in regards with district level disparities. Hence, the YDF programme will equip me with a competitive edge necessary for my future academic and professional endeavours.
